The History of
Gypsy Wind Ranch

There was a woman who had a dream to build a place of healing and give to our community. After spending years working in IT and serving in the National Guard and active duty in the United States Army Signal Corps., Laurel felt a deep calling to heal others incorporating horses and psychotherapy. She had a lifelong relationship with horses and their healing gifts and had found a unique approach to relationship with horses, horsemanship, body and energy effects for both horse and partner.
As a result, her ability to integrate horses into counseling through relationship, energy work, communication, and blending tools from her years as a trainer for riders and horses from a gentle, horse, & person-centered perspective created Gypsy Wind Ranch in 2010.
During this time, one client came for equine psychotherapy and their life forever changed. There’s a saying, “when you meet someone that has what you want, you latch on to them and don’t let go.” This client completed therapy, worked on their education, and six years later returned as a volunteer. Since 2016, Jessica L. Lee has been mentored and trained by Laurel in equine-assisted psychotherapy and learning while she completed her master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. Today, Jessica carries on Laurel’s teachings full time as Gypsy Wind Equine Family Therapy at Gypsy Wind Ranch.
